My Story

In 1991 my mum was diagnosed with MS. She suffered for nearly 26 years until she passed away in 2016. I swore I would raise money for MS in her memory.

I have a long history of raising money for various charities including Oxfam, Help for Heroes, The MS society and the Padgets Association amongst others. However, this year is the biggest one yet.

I was lucky enough to get a ballot place for the London Marathon 2024 and between us a friend and I raised over £2300 for the Padgets Association. I finished with an official time of 3:36:26 and loved every step!

So, this year I intend to go further, much further!

I am planning to run 26 events, 1 for each year mum suffered with MS. Most of these events are going to be Half Marathons or longer and will culminate with the 26 miles of the TCS London Marathon on April 27th 2025, all in support of MS-UK.

On Marathon day I will be joining over 100 other runners in #teampurple all with the same goal, to support a charity whose mission is to to help manage the physical and emotional impacts of living with Multiple Sclerosis.

But... my run will be a little different, as I plan to attempt a Guinness World Record (or two) too! More details of that in the future.

I will be running for 11 months to raise vital funds to continue the amazing services provided by MS-UK. All of my other runs will be self funded events or local runs alone or with friends. All will be recorded on Strava using the watch that was a gift from my parents.

By donating to my page you are helping MS-UK in their fight to raise awareness and provide support where it is needed most as supporting a charity that supports work into a disease that has had a profound and very personal effect on me and my family. These services include: a national helpline providing one to one support to thousands of people every year, an inspirational magazine helping people stay up to date with the latest lifestyle, diet and well-being news plus an extensive range of online exercise classes, well-being activities, information sessions and support groups to help people stay active and connected.

Please support me if you can. I am making a huge effort for this and will need all the support I can get!
