Help Me Support Bowel Research UK by Running the 2025 London Marathon
Why would I run 26.2 miles? - Well I’m doing it for Bowel Research UK—a cause close to my heart, specifically for Sophie and Rob.
In 2011, my Uncle Robert lost his battle with bowel cancer. His loss was a devastating blow and demonstrates the importance of recognising symptoms of this indiscriminate disease. I never imagined the bowel would reappear in my life so quickly, but unfortunately…
In 2024, my girlfriend Sophie was diagnosed with an extremely rare bowel condition, one of only twelve recorded cases. It severely impacted her health in a number of different ways. Everyday activities became uphill tasks, and our lives took an unexpected turn.
Sophie underwent two major abdominal surgeries in 2024, spending weeks in hospital and months recovering. Thanks to an incredible medical team, those surgeries were successful, giving Sophie a new lease on life. We are profoundly grateful for their expertise and care.
Despite everything, Sophie has faced her condition with remarkable strength and determination. Her resilience has been nothing short of inspiring and completely expected from somebody as remarkable as she is.
Losing my uncle and watching Sophie overcome her struggles have made me acutely aware of the importance of supporting organizations like Bowel Research UK.
I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, whether that’s through a donation or sharing this page.
Thanks for the support and see you at the finish line…then the pub.
