About us

When John was born everything seemed perfect. He failed a hearing test but we was told it was probably fluid and would come out. He was a lockdown baby so all services were closed and there was no follow up and it would be the start of many battles. 
After months that went into years we finally got diagnosis of CMV (cytomegalovirous) and Autism. John is Non Verbal. This has completely reshaped our lives. We've had lots of hospital appointments and John has had to be put to sleep twice in the last year for ongoing tests. CMV has led to John being profoundly deaf in his left ear and we have ongoing appointments for his right. Despite the uncertainties we remain hopeful for the future. 
I'd like to raise as much money as possible as CMV Action UK is a small charity with no government funding. Many people haven't heard of CMV until it affects them so I want to play my part in changing that.
